I would like to share this poem with The Healing Bridge, although I acknowledge that the yearning for peace is genderless. The poem simply sprang forth as a result of a woman's group that I'm involved in; hence, the voices of women. But we can all drink peace.
Let's start a new type of holy cycle.
Love and Peace,

Pray to whoever you kneel down to:
Jesus nailed to his wooden or marble or plastic cross,
his suffering face bent to kiss you;
Buddha still under the Bo tree in scorching heat,
Yahweh, Allah, raise your arms to Mary
that she may lay her palm on our brows,
to Shekinhah, Queen of Heaven and Earth,
to Inanna in her stripped descent...

When someone deeply listens to you
it is like holding out a dented cup
you've had since childhood
and watching it fill up with
cold, fresh water.
When it balances on top of the brim,
you are understood.
When it overflows and touches your skin,
you are loved.

When someone deeply listens to you
the room where you stay
starts a new life
and the place where you wrote
your first poem
begins to glow in your mind's eye.
It is as if gold has been discovered!

When someone deeply listens to you
your bare feet are on the earth
and a beloved land that seemed distant
is now at home within you.

are divided
into different
clans and tribes,
and belong to
countries and towns.
But I find myself
a stranger to
all communities
and belong to
no settlement.
The universe is
my country
and the human family
Is my tribe.

Exercise has been a cornerstone of my physical, mental, and spiritual health for many years now.

Having suffered from chronic depression since childhood, it was a miracle to me when in my early 20’s I was able to discipline myself to run. Since that point, I learned a number of important lessons that have stayed with me on this 20-year life journey... Read more...

One world, many voices
One universe, many experiences
Share with me yourself
Touch me with your heart
Feel for a moment a common universe
Take longer than a moment to reflect, and know, we are all one
Your anger is in me, I may hide it
Your pain is in me, I may bury it
Your sorrow is in me, I may withdraw from it
Help me to see the world from your perspective
Help me to expand my point of view
Don't let me look away when the pain I touch in you touches the pain in me
I am here. I am witness that you exist.
I witness that your life has value and meaning.
We are all witness to each other's soul.
We are not good or bad, we are alive.
Let us find a way to allow every being to live.
One universe.

Try to praise the mutilated world.
Remember June's long days,
and wild strawberries, drops of wine, the dew.
The nettles that methodically overgrow
the abandoned homesteads of exiles.
You must praise the mutilated world.
You watched the stylish yachts and ships;
one of them had a long trip ahead of it,
while salty oblivion awaited others.
You've seen the refugees heading nowhere,
you've heard the executioners sing joyfully.
You should praise the mutilated world.
Remember the moments when we were together
in a white room and the curtain fluttered.
Return in thought to the concert where music flared.
You gathered acorns in the park in autumn
and leaves eddied over the earth's scars.
Praise the mutilated world
and the gray feather a thrush lost,
and the gentle light that strays and vanishes
and returns

What if religion was each other?
If our practice was our life?
If prayer was our words?
What if the Temple was the Earth?
If forests were our church?
If holy water the rivers, lakes and oceans?
What if meditation was our relationships?
If the Teacher was life?
If wisdom was self-knowledge?
If Love was the center of our being
What if God was oneself, and all?
